Phil Grenadier

The brother of Larry Grenadier, the jazz bassist who is an incredibly successful trumpeter, Phil Grenadier can be called Phil Grenadier. He is originally from San Francisco and now splits his time between New York City and Boston. Sideman appearances include on albums by Owen Howard, Harvey Wainapel and Bob Nieske. Sweet Transients was Grenadier’s debut album. It was released in 2000. The album documents Grenadier’s highly developed improvisational skills and bandleading abilities, as well his connections with fine young musicians such as Seamus Blake and Ethan Iverson. Allmusic
