Phil Haynes

Phil Haynes, a 20-year-old New York artist, is featured on over 65 CD, DVD, and LP releases by many American and European labels. Many of his recordings include the great musicians of the generation, including saxophonists Anthony Braxton and Ellery Eskelin; trumpeters Dave Douglas and Herb Robertson; and bassists Mark Dresser and Ken Filiano; keyboard artists David Kikoski and Michelle Rosewoman; and vocalists Theo Bleckman and Nicholas Horner. He also has the violinist Mark Feldman and the collective of composers, the Joint Venture. His current touring groups include the romantic ‘jazzgrass’ string band Free Country with Hank Roberts as vocalist/cellist; bluesy power organ unit’ The Hammond Brothers featuring young B-3 maestro Paul Bratcher; and the classic trio of pianos, Day Dream, a cooperative w/ Yamaha artist Steve Rudolph.
