In 1991, Mr. Jefferey Henderst formed the Original Pinettes Brass Band. It is the only all-female brass band in the world. Each member was born in New Orleans and attended St. Mary’s Academy High School, an all-girl Catholic school. The Original Pinettes began with 16 members or more. They eventually grew to include other women from the area as well as St. Mary’s girls. The Original Pinettes Brass Band is available at many venues such as the Jazz
