Piotr Damasiewicz

Damas Piotr Damasiewicz, a composer and trumpeter, was born in Wroclaw. He attended the music academies in Katowice, Bydgoszcz, and Wroclaw. The “Music According to Art” association (MATA), which supports artists who seek alternative solutions in art, was founded by him. The association includes musicians as well as people from fine arts who are open to dialogue. His artwork, “First Exit”, was displayed in the Modern Art Gallery BWA Katowice. This was one of his most significant accomplishments in this field. He experimented with form and space in this dialogue with Stanislaw Drozdz’s “Pojecioksztalty”, “figures that mean” for the project. As a co-author on various multimedia projects, he also collaborated with the artistic circles at Wroclaw’s academy of fine arts and Katowice. Damasiewicz received the 2nd Krzysztof Komeda Competition Prize in the field jazz themes. The Wyborcza magazine named him the Cultural Prize laureate.
