Plamen Petrov

Plamen Petrov was a Bulgarian citizen who was born in Sofia in 1971. Petrov began playing guitar when he was twelve years old. He graduated from the National Academy of Music Pancho Vladigerov – Sofia in jazz and pop guitar in 2000. Petrov also received a master’s degree five years later. Petrov is a classical guitarist as well as playing jazz and pop music. Although he enjoys many styles of music, his preference for jazz is the most common. He was a member of various jazz and rock groups in Bulgaria, as well as overseas. He performed with various rock bands in Hong Kong and Estonia, as well as Norway, Great Britain, Norway and the Netherlands. He was part of the Bulgarian performance “Jesus Christ Superstar” in the “Jazz Time”, on Bulgarian National Television, and the “Spontaneously After Midnight”, on Bulgarian National Radio. He performed in concerts both as a solo performer and as part of big bands in Great Britain, Italy, and Great Britain. In 2001, he founded the “Plamen Petrov Trio”, in which he played on numerous festival and club stages (International Jazz Festival, Bansko, Rousse and Haskovo, among others). His discography contains three albums featuring his music: “With the Moon Alone Together”, 2001 in trio formation; and “Tell Me About You”, (2014) with the musicians Mihail Yosifov (Hristo Yotsov), Atanas Hadjiev, Boris Taslev, and Boris Taslev. “See the World,” (2016) – music for 2 guitars, which he performs in concert with Milena Valcheva. He has been a teacher since 2007. From 2011 onwards, he teaches at Rock School- Sofia. Plamen Petrov has written over 300 compositions for classical and acoustic guitars, in solo, duo, or trio.
