Plymouth

After their collaboration on 2013’s “Slobber Pup”, which was one of the most intensely-throbbing records in the RareNoise catalogue, Jamie Saft and Joe Morris have reunited to create a new potent and provocative album in Plymouth. The rhythm duo of drummer Gerald Cleaver and bassist Chris Lightcap, as well rising avant-garde guitarist Mary Halvorson, will be joining them on the three large pieces. They have been playing together since the late ’90s in many settings, including Morris’ quartet. They create a compelling stream-of consciousness sonic excursion that ranges from zen-like quiet to hellacious distortion-laced fury. This includes the 20-minute “Manomet,” “Standish” and “Title Track.” Jamie Saft – piano / organs Joe Morris, elec. guitars Mary Halvorson-elec. guitars Chris Lightcap-elec. bass Gerald Cleaver – drums from http://www.rarenoiserecords.com
