French one-shot (since 1977). Rahmann plays in an unusual style. He mixes fusion and Arabic flavours with a slight Zeuhl touch thanks to explosive bass lines and repetitive rhythmic patterns. Their music can be described as jazz fusion, with zeuhl-associated musicians performing it (Didier lockwood and Liza Deluxe (Magma), Gerard Prevost(Zao). Mahamad Hadi’s guitar sound is the central feature of all music, heavily influenced in part by Mahavishnu Orchestra. Bouzouki, oud sounds and other musical layers add another layer to the music. The mix is completed by some North African percussion, keyboards, and energetic drumming. It could be called “instrumental Zeuhl”, if it is pure instrumental. This is because the band leader is usually of Algerian descent. This album is very well produced, with a clear sound and great instrumental performances. Anyone who finds a mix of zeuhl a La Magma and Eastern-tinged Fusion a La Mahavishnu Orchestra appealing is recommended to this album. The band’s lineup : Mahamad Hadi plays synth-guitar, electric guitar and fretless guitar; Amar Mecharaf plays drums, rhythm; Michel Rutigliano plays acoustic, grand piano, ARP Odyssey. With Nadia Yamina Hadi singing, Didier Lockwood plays violin, Sylvain Marc plays fretless bass, Richard Gerard Kurdjian Gem sings; Liza Deluxe performs vocals; Joel Loviconi plays electric piano; Ali Shaigan uses a violin from progarchives.
