Rajdulari

You can take Ella Fitzgerald’s clear voice, Jill Scott’s spunk, and Chaka’s Funk and you will have Rajdulari, a new jazz vocalist. Rajdulari, a New York-based Jazz vocalist, creates an enjoyable listening experience for music fans. Her joyful voice is a result of her church choir upbringing. Even though her family moved around a lot, music has been where she found her home. Rajdulari was just a teenager when she first heard Sarah Vaughan’s song “Shullie A Bop” as well as Ella Fitzgerald’s song “Lemon Drop”. Rajdulari was fascinated and wanted to learn every nuance of every solo, scat and harmony. She was 17 when she was offered her first gig at Ryles Jazz Club, Cambridge. It was a feeling she couldn’t resist and one she could not ignore. Rajdulari was a student at Berklee College of Music, Boston. She shared the stage with Bobby McFerrin. She moved to New York City in 2010 and began her own solo venture. Their debut album Honeywine, which was nominated and won Best Jazz Band at New England Urban Music Awards 2011, remains one of Amazon.com’s 100 most downloaded Mp3s. Visions Beauty Distributors selected Rajdulari to perform and write the theme song at their 2012 Natural Hair and Health Expo. Her sophomore album, Journey Of A Woman, features the single “Natural”. Rajdulari was a member Zili Misik’s all-female World Music Band in Boston. Rajdulari won the 2007 Boston Music Awards.
