Ray Rivera

Ray Rivera, rhythm guitarist, singer and composer, is an example of American success stories that show how hard work and determination can lead to greatness. Rivera was raised in an orphanage in Long Island and in a Bronx foster home. Rivera began playing jazz in Harlem clubs as a teenager. In his teens, he began to learn guitar and started his recording career in 1950s. Rivera’s songs were recorded by Hank Jones and Billy Taylor, Cal Tjader and Joe Williams.
