Rémi Panossian

Remi Panossian, a 1983 native of Montpellier, France, started playing the piano when he was seven years old. When he was ten years old, he saw a concert by Michel Petrucciani and became hooked on jazz. Remi was a student at the Montpellier Jazz School. He learned musical theory and history, as well as improvisation, which he excelled at. He participated in master classes and was able to interact with musical legends like Steve Coleman, Stephane Kochoyan and Andy Milne. Remi moved from Vienna to continue his musical education after playing in Jazz Fest Wien 2000 with Regine Detembel, a prestigious Vienna Jazz Festival. He graduated from Toulouse College of Music in two years. There he also received a National School of Music Certificate for Jazz and Improvised Music. Remi was a jazz pianist for four years at Enfants du Jazz Workshop. He teaches now at the International Trio Session, Cape Breton, when he is not on tour. In 2002 Remi met Julien Duthu, a double bass player. They started collaborating and released “No End”, an MP3 album, in 2005. “Two” was released in 2008 on the Plus Loin label. L’Academie du Jazz awarded the duo a Best New Talent Award. The trio began their adventure with Maxime Delporte playing double bass and Frederic Petitprez drumming. The album “Add fiction”, which was released by the trio in January 2011, received a warm reception from both international media and audiences. The trio has been friends for many years and became a true Band! Their music, which is often described as both Lyrical u0026 Energetic, is strengthened by their unity. TSF JAZZ has named the trio the “Revelation of 2011”. They were invited to perform a song at Olympia Hall Paris’ “You and the Night and the Music” show. In just two years, the trio has performed on many famous stages in France, Portugal, Germany and Belgium. They also made over 40 performances in Asia ( Tokyo Jazz Festival (Japan), Jarasum festival (South Korea), Taichung festival ( Taiwan) Nanjing Jazz Festival (China )…).
