Rich Brown

Rich Brown is an active participant in Toronto’s diverse cultural music scene since 1992. At the age of 17, he learned to play bass by listening to music like Victor Bailey, Jaco Pastorius and Alain Caron. He later drew on other influences to expand his repertoire. Brown recently explained that he wanted to be able to sing like Stevie and play like Miles. He also wanted to sound like Scofield. Rich is one of Toronto’s most sought-after musicians. To name a few, he has performed with Carol Welsman (jazz vocalist), Andy Stochansky (ex-Angi diFranco drummer), Glenn Lewis, Andy Narrell, and others. He’s appeared on the TV series “Soul Food”, as well as over 30 recordings that range from Jazz and Latin to traditional Asian music and Arabic music. From
