Robert Carcasses, a Cuban jazz pianist. Born in Havana on May 19, 1972. He has worked with many musicians including Wynton Marsalis (Chucho Valdes), Changuito (Wynton Marsalis), George Benson and Descemer Bueno. He is also the leader of Interactivo. Robertico Carcasses, also known as Robertico is a Havana-based percussionist who graduated from the National School of Arts Havana in 1991. Between 1992 and 1995, he was a pianist for the Grupo Santiago Feliu in Argentina and Germany. In 1998-1999, he participated in a tour of the USA and Spain with Columna B. He also taught at Stanford University’s Jazz Workshop during this time. Carcasses was invited to perform at numerous international jazz festivals including the Barcelona Jazz Festival (1997) and the Havana Festival (1995-96, 1997, 1997) as well as the Utah Jazz Festival(1998). Roberto Carcasses composed the music for Violetas (Mexico) in 1997. He also wrote songs for Cuarteto De La Habana, Spain (Spain), and New Rose Hotel (US). The album, Invitation, was released in 2000 and showcased many of his musical talents as a pianist as well as as music director and arranger. In July 2009, Carcasses released Matizar, his final album. Many musicians have collaborated with Carcasses, including Wynton Marsalis (Chucho Valdes), Wynton Marsalis (Changuito), Gonzalito Rubalcaba and Harper Simon. He was also a part of the albums Trampas de Tiempo, Pavel y Gema, Jazz Timbero (with his father Bobby Carcasses), and Twisted Noon (Columna B). His most recent productions are Telmary’s A diario (2006), and Breathe (2006), the second album of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Yusa. As Interactivo’s bandleader, Yusa, Telmary, Francis del Rio and Elmer Ferrer (Julian Carlos Marin, Carlos Sarduy), Julio Padron and Julio Padron), Rafael Paseiro, Edgar Martinez.
