Roland Prince

(b St John’s Antigua, August 27, 1946; died July 15, 2016. Antiguan guitarist. He moved to New York in 1969 after a brief stint living in Toronto (mid-1960s), playing with local musicians. He performed with Brother Jack McDuff (1969-1970), Billy Mitchell (1970), Wynton Kelly (1971), Art Blakey (1971), Stanley Turrentine (1974), and Jimmy Smith (1974). Prince made several recordings and toured Europe and Japan with Elvin Jones (1974-8), including New Agenda, 1975 and Van. 79362) and participated in sessions with Roy Haynes (1972), James Moody (1975), Frank Foster (76), and Don Pullen (19776-7). from www.oxfordmusiconline.com
