Roseanna Vitro

Roseanna Vitro is often overlooked, but her versatility, sense for swing and appealing voice make her one of jazz’s most interesting singers in the 1990s and 2000s. In the mid-’70s, she began her career in Houston singing blues and rock. She had a two year engagement at The Green Room in Houston while also hosting a weekly radio broadcast. She began working with Lionel Hampton shortly after her 1980 move to New York. Roseanna Vitro is a singer who takes risks with her singing. She has recorded for small Texas Rose Music and Skyline labels as well as Chase Music Group, Concord and Telarc. Her talents deserve much more recognition. Allmusic
