Rozina Pátkai

Rozina Patkai, a Hungarian jazz singer and bossa Nova performer was born November 1, 1978 in Budapest. Patkai began her singing career in classical singing. She has won several international music competitions, and she is a regular performer at jazz and fringe festivals. Since 2010, Patkai and her group have been performing in various formations in Hungary. The Jazz Showcase at the Palace of Arts gave them the opportunity to present themselves. This quintet plays bossa Nova and is distinguished by their authentic expressions of Brazilian melodies, harmony between the trumpet and vocals, and their unique-minded songs. The band’s ability to improvise, use modern musical elements and create musical shapes from momentary thoughts are all highlighted. The band’s first album received attention in America.
