Ryan Quigley

Ryan Quigley, a jazz trumpet teacher, is also one of the directors of Big Band at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Ryan Quigley was born 1977 in Derry, County Londonderry. At the age of 11, he began playing the trumpet and was raised on Miles Davis, Clifford Brown and John Coltrane. He has recorded and toured with All Bergman and The Bad Plus, Jimmy Greene and Tim Garland. Ryan loves to listen to new music, despite having two kids and a full-time job as an arranger and trumpeter. Laphroaigian Slip, Ryan’s first CD, was released in June 2008.
