Sam Crockatt started playing jazz at the age of 10 At the age of 10, he started listening to jazz music and began playing the clarinet. Soon he switched to the saxophone, and started listening to John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins. He also discovered Wayne Shorter. Sam earned a degree from The Royal Academy of Music in jazz and has played at venues across the UK, including Ronnie Scott’s and The Albert Hall. He also performed six times at Paradise Jazz Festival in Cyprus with Pete King and Julian Arguelles and taught at the Global Music Foundation Summer School, Tuscany, alongside US pianist Edward Simon. from http://www.loopcollective.org
