Saul

Saul, the mysterious musician, was once a member JCBB. He started out as a jazz/blues player. He handles all aspects of warped electronica on this platter, including guitars, percussion and violins as well as lots of keyboards, sampling, programming and programming. You immediately think of drum’n’bass. It is an ultra-fast snare drum/bass drum pattern, with synthetic moods and hyperkinetic drive. But alien elements quickly become a part of the music and can blur the lines between genres. The music is distorted by noise guitar, soundscape experiments and wild free jazz samples. Then there’s the structure of the music: it is complex and prog rock-like, even though the tracks are short. Allmusic
