Morgan grew up in Sarasota in Florida and was involved in musical theatre. He played the piano in the pit as well as performing on stage. After earning a music degree, and many years of singing and playing the piano, Morgan took a 15 year hiatus in order to pursue a career in technology. Morgan realized what he was missing after a work-related move to New York. He decided to return to the music scene, though this time in jazz.
