Shane Theriot

Shane Theriot, a Grammy-winning guitarist/composer (pronounced Terry-o), hails from New Orleans. He has been playing guitar since age 11. Scott Henderson, GIT’s 20-year-old teacher recommended him after he graduated with highest honors from all styles at GIT in Hollywood, CA. His versatility on the stage and in the studio has allowed him to work with many musicians in almost all genres of music. He joined the internationally renowned Neville Brothers at age 25 and performed and toured around the world for eight years as a member. While continuing to record and work with other artists, he was also a part of the Neville Brothers. Theriot was a Grammy-winning producer in 2015, winning a Grammy for Jo El Sonnier’s critically acclaimed album “The Legacy”. Shane currently serves as the Music Director of Daryl Hall’s award-winning television program “Live from Daryl’s House”, as well as performing with John Oates and Daryl Hall. Shane has recorded and/or performed alongside many artists, including The Neville Brothers and Rickie Lee Jones. Shane’s Louisiana-inspired sound. Shane is also the author of several instructional books/dvds, including “Rhythm Mojo”, the latest True Fire.com publication, and the highly-regarded (New Orleans Funk Guitar Styles – Alfred Publishing). His columns have appeared in Guitar Player Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine, Vintage Guitar, and Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazine. His original compositions have been broadcast on MTV, VH1, Food Network and HBO. Theriot’s career as a musician has seen him perform on numerous stages around the globe, including Madison Square Garden, Budokan, Tokyo Japan, The Grand Ole Opry and Montreux. He also performed at Vancouver, Tokyo, and Tokyo Jazz Festivals, Radio City Music Hall and The White House.
