Shintaro Quintet

Recorded in New York on ‘Evolution’, Shunzo Ohno, the great Japanese trumpet player, is joined by a mixed Japanese-American group: Jeff Jenkins, the pianist, brings a touch McCoy Tyner’s percussive jazz to the album; US-born Saxophonist Bob Kenmotsu has recorded and performed with Pat Martino as well as with Jack McDuff’s band; and Fukushi Tainaka (who studied under Philly Jones) completes solid rhythm section.
