Shuffle Demons

Canadian jazz fusion group The Shuffle Demons had an unexpected hit in Canada’s Top 40 with “Spadina Bus”, their 1986 single. Streetniks’ debut album featured the song. It was about the Spadina Avenue bus operated by Toronto Transit Commission in Toronto, Ontario. This song was also used to launch Speakers Corner on CITY-TV. The group consisted of Richard Underhill and Mike Murley, Dave Parker as well as bassist Jim Vivian, percussionist Stich Wynston, and drummer Stich Wynston. Over the next seven-years, The Shuffle Demons would release four more albums. Although they never had a major pop hit, the video “Get out of My House Roach” was a popular one on MuchMusic. However, they retained a loyal following on jazz’s scene. They appeared on Sharon, Lois, a critically-acclaimed children’s TV program, in 1987.
