A new trio, which categorizes itself as “Ethno-Coltranian-Rock”, in which each one of the three individuals brings his own ideas to develop a group concept. Jazz, funk and world music are all incorporated with a special focus on the textures and moods. SLANG has made a name for itself since their debut CD “Los Locos”. Their music and their fan base grow with each concert. They continue to pursue their unwavering drive with “Save the Chilis” and add a wider variety of sounds to their very own, personal sound. They created their own genre, REC (the French acronym Ethno Coltranian Rock), which is a beautiful blend of jazz, rock, and ethnic music (especially John Coltrane’s music). Slang’s singing on their first CD was a surprise. This is sure to be a big step forward for REC. from www.jazzinbelgium.com
