Soulive

Soulive is a jazz-organ trio that was founded in Woodstock, New York. Eric Krasno (guitar), Alan Evans and Neal Evans (Hammond B3 Organ, Basskeys, Clavinet) make up the band. The band’s horn section is often accompanied by Ryan Zoidis (saxophone) and Rashawn Ross, (trumpet). Since their 1999 inception, Soulive has seen a significant expansion in their sound. They have performed with a number of highly-respected musicians, including John Scofield and Warren Haynes, Sam Kininger and Dave Matthews. The six studio albums (Get Down!, Turn It Out, Doin’ Something, Next and Breakout) were produced by respected labels Blue Note Records and Velour Recordings and, most recently, Concord Records. Their 2003 self-titled live album was released. They allow audience taping and distribution (which can be found at archive.org and bt.etree.org). Soulive recently teamed up for “No Place Like Soul” with “Toussaint”, a singer. Text contributed by users is available under Creative Commons By–SA License. It may also be available under GNU FDL.
