Smooth jazz band with a distinct Latin/African feel. Formed in 1982 by guitarist Chieli Minucci and drummer/percussionist George Jinda. After having recorded 13 albums, they split in 1995. George Jinda kept the Special EFX name, and recorded the album “Here To Stay” before becoming incapacitated in 1997 after suffering a stroke. Chieli minucci was given the Special EFX name.
