They are a sweet trio of keyboard players, who use a surprising amount of instrumentation from gospel music but make their songs have a completely different feel overall. The group includes lots of Hammonds and other keyboards by David Wallumrod. It also features songs penned and performed by James Cleveland, Edwin Hawkins and other gospel stars. However, the execution is dynamic and creative so that many melodies can be taken apart and reworked. This creates an atmosphere that still has a spiritual undercurrent but is far removed from traditional American gospel. The result is one the most original Jazzland albums, and it has some surprising groovy moments.
