Spontaneous is a Seattle-based avant-rock and experimental jazz band. The band’s music focuses on originals as well as covers. They also play electronic music and progressive rock. The group is comprised of a quartet consisting of keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. Spontaneous REX is a mix of electronic improvisation, seventies fusion and prog rock. It’s a musical adventure that blends a variety of influences into one unique experience. SPONTANEOUS REX draws from many influences but creates a unique sound through their original compositions and unique arrangements while still performing a lively and energetic show. Spontaneous is Jake Sele (piano/keyboards), Matt Williams on electric guitar, Nick Lonien on bass, and Joe Eck on drums. They met while studying music at Cornish College. Since then, they have received critical acclaim in a variety of venues, including from jazz musicians, classical instrumentalists and composers.
