Sri Hanuraga

Born December 24, 1985 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sri began studying Jazz piano at the age of 17 with Indra Lesmana (the most prominent Jazz pianist in Indonesia). He won the JGTC Competition’s first prize and performed at several major Jazz festivals in Indonesia, including the International Java Jazz Festival 2005. He moved to Amsterdam at nineteen to study Jazz piano in the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He won the soloist prize in the East of Eastern Jazz Festival, Nijmegen in April 2006. He was awarded the “Indonesian Young Talent Award” in 2011 by the Java Jazz Festival. He and Daniel Master Quartet won the European Keep an Eye Jazz Award 2011, in the category “Best Band”, shortly after which he was awarded the cum laude (10 distinction) degree from The Conservatorium van Amsterdam’s master program in Jazz piano performance. He has performed in several European countries, including France, Belgium, Hungary and Monaco, as well as Germany, Italy, Germany, Romania, Slovenia, Slovenia, Belgium, Slovenia, Belgium, Hungary and Monaco during his time in The Netherlands. In May 2010, his trio “Animated” was selected to perform at the Dutch Jazz Day. His composition was also chosen to be included on a CD entitled “The Best of Jazz Day”. In 2011, he received the “The Indonesian Young Talent Award” from the Java Jazz Festival.
