tanley Baird is a well-known musician, composer, and entertainer in North Carolina. He has also been a popular educator at the university and public levels. Stanley has performed on the concert stage alongside his mentor Donald Byrd and others such as Najee, Alex Bugnon (Region Belle), Richard Elliot. Kirk Whalum, Kim Waters. The O’Jays. The late George Howard. Stanley’s time as a teacher at St.Croix, U.S Virgin Islands was filled with Latin and West Indian music. His music reflects this influence. Stanley’s music has been heard on over three hundred Urban and Quiet Storm radio programs, as well as one soap opera, The Guiding Light. He was featured in Bre, Billboard and the Gavin Report. Baird’s career has included every aspect of jazz. He uses his talent to create music with heart. Stanley founded the STANLEYBAIRD YOUTH JAZZ FUNDATION because he believes jazz can still be preserved through the contributions of young vocalists and instrumentalists. Baird’s philosophy was “Listening is good for the soul, the mind…don’t do drugs, get high on soothing, inspiring music.” Stanley Baird Group was formed in 1991.
