Svenska Hotkvintetten

This small-known Swedish band, whose name is translated to English as the Swedish Hot Quintet, was closely inspired by the Quintet of France’s Hot Club. This group, which featured Emil Iwring as violinist and Folke Eriskberg (chordal guitarist) playing solos, was one of the most popular in existence between 1939-1941. Its recordings were not widely distributed outside of Sweden, and it was, until 1993’s Dragon CD, one of the most obscure bands in jazz history. Allmusic
