Forming Sweet Defeat composer and multi-instrumentalist Tom Wouters (Flat Earth Society, Crap Squeezer, Flick Flack Bat) gathered congenial minds with gitarist Bert Dockx (Flying Horseman, Dans Dans, Score Man, Strand) and cellist Lode Vercampt (Kris Defoort, duo with Bart Maris) for a rather atypical trio. They create “chamber jazz and beyond”, which you can take literally. Or, how composition, surprise, and tension can all be synonyms. There are no well-trodden tracks, but amazing and most importantly adventurous music.
