Terry Silverlight started his recording career when he was 14 years old, playing drums on Barry Miles’s album, “WHITE HEAT”, which was an innovative harbinger for the fusion movement. As a drummer, he has performed around the world. He recorded hit singles for Freddie Jackson and Natalie Merchant, Billy Ocean, George Benson and Natalie Merchant, Freddie Jackson and Anne Murray. Phil Woods, The Fania All-Stars and The CTI All-Stars were also among his credits. One Fine Day, You’ve Got Mail, Object Of My Love, My Blue Heaven and Slaves Of New York were his film scores. He also appeared on many TV and jingles. Terry has toured the world with Roberta Flack (all-star Manhattan Jazz Orchestra) and many other performers. As a songwriter/producer/composer, Terry has written, produced and arranged hundreds of pieces for network TV shows including One Life To Live, The Sopranos (a song in an Emmy award-winning episode), All My Children, Ed, Beverly Hills 90210, Young And The Restless, Melrose Place, C.S.I., NCIS, Smallville, Ghost Whisperer, Strong Medicine, Las Vegas, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Seventh Heaven, The District, The Shield, Burn Notice, South Beach. Reebok, Nicorette and Pantene jingles. Songs from the films INVINCIBLE, MARCI X, and SUNSHINE CLEANING were performed by Alan Arkin/Emily Blunt/Amy Adams. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Monica Potter also recorded HEAD OVER HEELS. Terry has five solo jazz albums, in various sub-genres of jazz: TERRY SIVERLIGHT, WILD! DIAMOND IN The RIFF, LIVE! and IN CONCERT. He composed, arranged, and produced them all. These albums feature performances by Will Lee and Paul Shaffer, Hiram Bullock (Lew Soloff), Barry Miles, Chuck Loeb. David Mann, Bill Evans. Gene McDaniels (“OPPOSITES ATTRACT” for Paula Abdul), Cynthia Biggs (“FEEL LIKE MAKING LOVE”), Jeff Franzel, Alexandra Forbes, Barry Miles (he wrote songs with Maya Angelou, Chaka Khan, Pointer Sisters), Tabitha Fair, Bob Malach and Glenn Alexander. The Bitter End, Jazz Forum Arts, Bronxnet TV Studio, and The Metropolitan Cafe.
