Tex Williams

Tex Williams, 23 August 1917 – 11 October 1985 was an American country music artist from Ramsey, Illinois. He was instrumental in transforming rural and acoustic music into dance-oriented Western swing pop. His popularity reached its peak in the late 1940s. Williams is most well-known for his talking blues style. His biggest hit was “Smoke!” Smoke! Smoke! “That Cigarette” is featured in the film Thank You For Smoking.
