The Bakerton Group

The Bakerton Group, an instrumental blues band, is a side project of blues rock group Clutch. They combine elements of blues, psychedelic, jazz, and stoner rock. The current band includes all four members from the rock band Clutch (Tim Sult Dan Maines Jean-Paul Gaster and Neil Fallon). They have toured extensively in Canada and the United States. The Bakerton Group, which is a departure from the Clutch sound, emphasizes the instrumental talents of its members. They have songs with a psychedelic and groovy “jazz-infected”, feel. The band’s debut release was the EP Space Guitars in 2001. It is available for free on the Clutch site. The band recorded new material at Baltimore’s Magpie Cage in August 2006. The album was produced by J. Robbins, of Jawbox fame. Mick Schauer, a new member, played the Hammond organ. The eponymous album was published in October 2007, almost a year after it was recorded. The Bakerton Group released El Rojo on February 17, 2009. It was also produced by Robbins and is the band’s first release on Weathermaker Music. Per Wiberg of Opeth replaced Schauer in 2007 as the keyboard, organ and synthesizer player. Wikipedia
