Halfway House Orchestra is named after a dancehall called Halfway House, which was located halfway between New Orleans (Louisiana) and Lake Pontchartrain. Abbie Brunies, the brother of George Brunies, was the leader of the group. The last Leon Roppolo recordings were Barataria, and Pussy Cat Rap.
