Third Reel is a collaboration between guitarist Roberto Pianca and Nicolas Masson, saxophonist Nicolas Masson, and drummer Emanuele Meniscalco. Each member of the band brings their own compositions. They are always intended to be used in multiple, unpredictable developments and have individual stylistic connotations. Roberto’s music is minimalist and based on an introverted and delicate “tone vs. harmony” approach. Nicolas uses more rhythmic parameters while Emanuele uses melodic ones. This ensemble is the contemporary jazz lesson, from Brooklyn to northern Europe. It has its own response, unison and conscious of its influences and reference. While there is no need to impress the audience, it becomes necessary to wait for the right sound every time.
