Tiny Parham, a Canadian-born American early-blues arranger and pianist, was born 25 February 1900 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He died on 4 April 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Parham was born in Canada, and grew up near Kansas City, USA. He began his career in vaudeville and moved to Chicago in 1925. There he was a leader in several small bands, an arranger, talent scout for Paramount Records and a pianist in theatres. He cut 38 sides between 1928 and 1930 under the name Tiny Parham and His Musicians. He continued to tour and lead his own bands in the 1930’s. He was killed in his dressing room in Milwaukee, during a show that he performed in 1943.
