Tommaso Starace

Tommaso was born in Milano, Italy in 1975. He began playing the saxophone at age 18 and studied music. In 1994, Tommaso moved to the United Kingdom. He graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire with a Bmus First Class Honours and then at the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in 2000 with a Postgraduate Diploma in jazz studies. Some of his most well-known jazz musicians include Billy Cobham and David Liebman, Stan Sulzmann (Kenny Wheeler), Stan Sulzmann, Jonathan Gee, Paolo Pellegatti and Gianni Giudici. He recorded music for “This Little Life”, a BBC television drama, with Dario Marianelli (‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘The Atonement’). For his contributions to the profession of music over the years, Tommaso received an Honorary Membership from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2008.
