Tri-fi

TRI-FI has been creating original jazz music for ten years. They have a unique sound, but it is familiar. TRI-FI, unlike many other jazz groups, is a true band. It’s a trio of award-winning musicians who have been performing their original music together for many years. Each member contributes to the compositions. Matthew Fries, Phil Palombi (Grammy Award-winning bassist), and Keith Hall (respected educator, director of Keith Hall Summer Drum Insitute) were formed in 2003 to play the rhythm section for Curtis Stigers. They toured extensively, playing at major jazz festivals such as Montreux, North Sea and Rochester, Toronto, Toronto, Vail, Vail, Aspen, and Toronto. TRI-FI created the trio to teach and create original music. It is rooted in their jazz history but modern in its style. Downbeat Magazine has called TRI-FI a “fantastic piano trio”. They are praised for their “perpetual forward thrust of music… and flawless intercommunication.” JazzReview.com describes TRI-FI as combining “creative writing with fresh arranging and complementary playing to give us music that must be reckoned. All Music Guide states that TRI-FI “is well on their way… to incorporating new style, strength to their already potent brand deejay music…” TRI-FI will celebrate ten years of composing and performing together with the release a fifth album, Staring into The Sun. http://tri-fi.com
