Tribal Tech, a virtuoso fusion jazz group, was founded in 1984 by Scott Henderson and Gary Willis. They debuted with Spears a year later. Through the years, Henderson and Willis became among the most respected instrumentalists in contemporary Jazz. They were both praised for their subsequent albums, including 1990’s Nomad and 1987’s Dr. Hee. In 1995, Tribal Tech was put on hiatus to give the members time to pursue solo projects. Finally, they reunited four years later with Thick. Rocket Science was released in fall 2000.
