trio DEF is a modern jazz ensemble that performs and composes. It draws on a wide range of influences, including free improvisation and more structured forms, as well as soundscapes and earthy expressions. A compelling, original ensemble sound rooted in late-sixties/early-seventies experimentation fused with European-style texturalism. Trio DEF was formed in 2012 and has performed at masterclasses, university concerts, radio/internet “simulcasts”, and live radio/internet shows.
