Urban Gypsies is an instrumental Jazz/Latin/contemporary band. They are a new direction in Latin/Jazz, combining world music influences with jazz. They play a variety of music, from fiery guitar virtuosity to lounge Bossa Nova. The band has performed at many weddings, festivals, clubs, and other events for over 15 years. They have performed with Buena Vista Social club, Cassandra Wilson and many others… They have also held residencies in exclusive Sydney venues such as The Basement, The Vanguard and Cafe Sydney. To date, they have released three albums. Gypsy Fever 2000 and Sauvage 2003 were followed by Beautiful Catastrophe 2009 The fourth album, “Samsara”, is scheduled for release in 2013/14 from http://www.urbangypsies.org
