Urbem, originally from Brazil’s western region, is a contemporary jazz quartet. Their identity is a unique mixture of rhythms and effects that does not lose their Brazilian roots. The band has received a lot attention since 2015. They won a national instrumental music prize called Samsung EFestival Intl., and were recently invited to join Odradek Records in the USA and Italy. They will be returning to Europe in April to record an album and give a few presentations. The quartet includes Sandro Moreno, Bianca Bacha (vocals and ukulele), Gabriel de Andrade and Gabriel Basso (electric basse), who was the winner of Batuka Music Fest 2001. From www.gigmit.com
