Zappa-influenced Jazz/Rock/Prog from Finland. Utopianisti is Finnish composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer Markus Pajakkala’s brainchild, started in 2010. The line-up for each song changes in the studio. Pajakkala plays the keyboards, woodwinds, and drums. He also composes and engineers the music. There are many guest musicians from various genres, including classically-trained, jazz, folk, and rock musicians. Jazz-rock is the predominant style, with some prog elements, including latin, avant-garde, and Balkan gypsy music. Pajakkala also plays a major role in the band Poutatorvi.
