Viktor Tóth

Viktor Toth is a versatile figure in Hungarian jazz. Toth’s music allows him to express himself in many ways. He can be a post-bop virtuoso in the Toth Viktor Tercett, or a spiritual guide for soul in the Arura Trio. When reviewing 2007’s Climbing With Mountains, the press said that it was the best jazz album of 2007. His latest album, The Present, won the award for best jazz album of 2014. Viktor Toth was also named jazzman of 2010 in 201 5. He still considers himself a truth seeker despite this and continues to pursue his musical pursuits in an effort to achieve oneness with universal harmony. He released the 2010 album Tartim, and the 2011 Popping Bopping album. Toth has had the privilege of playing with internationally-respected musicians such as Henry Franklin (drums), William Parker(bass), John Betsch (drums), Piotr Wojtasik (“trumpet”) and Mihaly Dresden (sax), and has gained respect as a peer. He is a dynamic musician who is sensitive to the moment and strives for the best performance. He has performed at various jazz festivals in the United States and Europe.
