In the mid-1990s, American fusion supergroup Vital Tech Tones was formed. It consisted of Steve Smith, Tribal Tech guitarist Scott Henderson and Bela Fleck, as well as Victor Wooten, Flecktones bassist. Due to time constraints, the group only released two albums. The band was an additional project for each member. Although there is talk of a reunion, no official announcement has been made. Although Smith performed on two occasions with Henderson and Wooten, the band has never played live. The band’s music is almost exclusively instrumental.
