Vlatko Stephanovski (b. Vlatko Stefanovski (b. He was born in Prilep and began playing guitar when he was 13. Stefanovski was a founding member of Leb i sol, with whom he recorded 13 studio albums between 1978 u0026 1991. He splits his time between playing with the VS Trio and composing for theatre and film. Stefanovski has been a guitarist on many different guitars, including a Gibson SG and a Fender Stratocaster – modified with Schecter parts and Radulovic parts. He also played a Telecaster and a Radulovic super-strat. His use of odd meters (5/4 and 7/8 respectively) and other non-traditional scales (e.g. the Phrygian dominant), is a clear sign of his influence on ethnic and folk music from Southeastern Europe, and specifically the music of Republic of Macedonia.
