Volcano Radar

Volcano Radar is a fusion between ecstatic improvisational energies and Apollonian intelligence. Volcano Radar is a power quartet that is powered by Julia A. Miller and Elbio Barilari, both free jazz/noise/avant guitars. They can move fluently from noise-funk improvisations to structured sonic forms. Uruguayan born multi-instrumentalist and composer Elbio Barilari and American guitarist and composer Julia Miller played together for the first time in 2012, and they made their first public appearance as Volcano Radar at the Empty Bottle shortly after. Their soundscapes are described as noise-funk and avant-rock, post-jazz, avant rock, improvised experiment music, jazz-electronica, neo-psychedelia, and improvised jazz. Fareed Haque, Mathgames and Ernie Adams have joined Volcano Radar in recording and performing! ; Edward Wilkerson Jr., reeds; Jim Gailloreto, reeds; Guillermo Gregorio, reeds; Alejandro Acierto, reeds; Harrison Bankhead, bass/cello; Rollo Radford, electric bass; Yosef Ben Israel, bass; Avreeayl Ra, drums; Tim Davis, drums; Ernie Adams, drums; Lou Ciccotelli, drums
