Today’s drummers are not able to successfully combine the rich history and rhythms of Latin, Afro-Cuban, and World Percussion. Walfredo Jr. has made it his passion to combine the two disciplines. Reyes’s innovative approach has led to the development of the instrument’s technical capabilities. Wally (Walfredo Jr. was born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico. He then grew up in America, where he learned the traditions of his father Walfredo Sr. Wally (Walfredo Jr.) combines his love for the drum set with these principles to create his unique rhythmic style. Wally can sound both a drummer or a percussionist simultaneously. Wally’s dazzling chops and penchant for playing unconventional patterns are just two of the many things that make him a formidable performer. This “one-man percussion show” has had a long list of gigs. They have performed with many artists, including Carlos Santana and Traffic, Celia Cruz and Gloria Estefan, Ricki Lee Jones and Ricki Lee Jones. Walfredo is a versatile musician who is highly sought after around the globe. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he continues his musical explorations, including recording, producing and composing. Walfredo plays percussion in Chicago’s renowned Classic Rock band.
