Wolfgang Dauner *December 30, 1935, Stuttgart – + January 4, 2021 in Stuttgart Dauner was a German “forefather of jazz”, the composer, keyboarder and producer who was also the founder of free music. Born in Stuttgart, December 30, 1935, Dauner founded the Wolfgang Dauner Trio in 1963 with EberhardWeber and Fred Braceful. This led to the formation of jazz-rock group “Et Cetera”, which shaped German jazz. Dauner headed the Radio Jazz Group Stuttgart for 15 years starting in 1969. He was also a co-founder and leader of the 1976 “United Jazz Rock Ensemble”. Dauner composed music for jazz musicians for television and radio drama, and also worked on musical productions that were for children such as the “Show with the Mouse”. Konstantin Wecker was his producer. He is best known for his great works, including “Psalmus Spei”, a jazz opera for the church choir or jazz ensemble and “Der Urschrei”. From www.archyworldys.com
